Happy 2011 !
Off and running! I am so excited for all that will happen this year.
My parents built our log home growing up and I would like to say I helped...but in reality only peeled a few logs ...Mom did most of that, though I can take credit for helping Dad shingle the roof. My parents instilled in me a strong work ethic. I thank them for it. That said, I've always said I will never build my own house knowing how much work goes into it. Here Matt and I are with our own business and the new brewery construction project. I'm doing my small part like I did with Mom and Dad, but am thankful for all that Matt is doing to make this project come together. I have posted construction pictures in an album on our facebook page if you are interested and below is a picture from January 1st.
Vermont Senator Leahy introduced a bill that is now law, which required the US Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Secretary of Commerce to study the effect of corporate abuse in TM law. The deadline of January 7th has been extended to February 7th. If you are a business owner share your thoughts with our government by following the link below, to the survey they are using for the study.
Also below is a link to an exciting auction in support of Pete's Greens, a wonderful Vermont business. They have had a rough start to the year. With everyones support they are going to come back and continue to do the great things they do, providing great healthy food options for Vermonters and our restaurants.
NEW BREWERY CONSTRUCTION
January 1st 2011
The siding has begun on the backside in this photo. As of today the sides are up and they are now working on the roof. There is also a connector piece that you do not see in this photo from the existing building to the brewery. Note to all my local friends with kegorators that will be the pick up area for your kegs.
The Power of Social Media -
Facebook, twitter and e-mail. Everyone let out a loud cry during last years Trademark dispute between Rock Art and an Energy Drink. As a result our Government has taken a step to study this type of corporate abuse in trademark (TM) law. They have issued a survey to fill out : Vermont Senator Leahy introduced a bill that is now law, which
required the US Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Secretary of
Commerce to study the effect of corporate abuse in TM law.
Many small businesses have spent too much time and money defending and dealing with irrational trademark issues Time and money that should have been used to grow our businesses. If you have had Trademark issues or know of a small business that has, please help spread the survey and the need for Trademark Law reform. Change can not happen unless we give our input and let others know input is needed.
Thanks for all you continued support,
